Anne Bevan
Edinburg, Schottland
Installation (size 4 x 8 metres) in the Ateliers Höherweg, Düsseldorf, Germany.
Salt, paper, glass panels, neon
Video projection of pouring salt
The installation was made in response to research into the flow of the river Rhine. This involved tracing its origins in the Swiss mountains and working with imagery from ancient maps.
The salt - like an hourglass - represented time and formation of the land, as well as a reference to the eventual meeting of spring with sea water.
